NEW AIA Mum2Baby Protect! Full Plan Review & How To Apply Now!

What Is AIA Mum2Baby Protect

AIA Mum2Baby Protect is a BUNDLED plan between the AIA Guaranteed Protect Plus (IV) (which is a whole life plan) and the AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) which is the prenatal rider (covering for pregnancy).

It is an effective way to cover for baby for early critical illnesses and read on to the next sections to understand how you can use it properly to cover for baby.

Why AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) is a winner for BABY!

AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) is the prenatal rider and provides coverage for up to 3 years for both mother and child.

It possibly has one of the most comprehensive list for congenital conditions  and daily hospital care benefit covered for baby.

Coverage amounts are $5,000/$10,000/$25,000. From my experience, the $10,000 and $25,000 options makes sense so that any hospital care benefit daily amounts are sizeable.

Congenital illness will get a payout of 100% of the sum assured.

Daily hospital care benefit will be 2% of sum assured capped at 30 days.

For example, new born admitted incubated for 6 days and sum assured is $10,000. Claimable amount in this instance if approved will be 6x$200 = $1,200.

Note: Incubation of a new-born child must be more than 3 consecutive days immediately after birth.

AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) is a winner for MUM!

AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) has introduced a new benefit which is Early Delivery by Cesarean Benefit which pays 15% of the sum assured.

Note: The expectant mother undergone a delivery by caesarean section before 36 weeks of gestation. The Early Delivery by Caesarean Benefit will be paid out if the procedure is deemed medically necessary by a registered medical practitioner.

This benefit will not apply if the mother is carrying 2 foetuses during pregnancy.

Pregnancy complications list is also one of the most competitive. It helps you cover more in addition to whatever coverage you have on an integrated shield plan that has congenital conditions coverage.

AIA Mum2Baby Protect transfers coverage to your baby

The policy bundle is done with the AIA Guaranteed Protect Plus (IV) (which is a whole life plan) and the AIA Baby Protect Plus (III) which is the prenatal rider (covering for pregnancy).

The whole life plan component is bought on MUMMY's life first and includes death and total & permanent disability, while having the choice to enhance with early critical illness coverage.

Once baby is born, all the whole life plan benefits can be TRANSFERRED to baby (which is the key objective). Personally, what I'd advocate the most is for you to have the early critical illness coverage for him/her.

The key part is to understand the PURPOSE of critical illness coverage where i had covered in my YouTube channel.

These insurance plans are underwritten by AIA Singapore Private Limited (Reg. No. 201106386R) ("AIA"). All insurance applications are subject to AIA's underwriting and acceptance. This is not a contract of insurance. The precise terms and conditions of these plans, including exclusions whereby the benefits under your policy may not be paid out, are specified in the relevant policy contracts. You are advised to read the relevant policy contracts.

As buying a life insurance policy is a long-term commitment, an early termination of the policy usually involves high costs and the surrender value, if any, that is payable to you may be zero or less than the total premiums paid. Buying health insurance products that are not suitable for you may impact your ability to finance your future healthcare needs. You should consider carefully before terminating the policy or switching to a new one as there may be disadvantages in doing so. The new policy may cost more or have fewer benefits at the same cost.

This policy is protected under the Policy Owners' Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for your policy is automatic and no further action is required from you. For more information on the types of benefits that are covered under the scheme as well as the limits of coverage, where applicable, please contact your insurer or visit the GIA/LIA or SDIC web-sites (www.gia.org.sg or www.lia.org.sg or www.sdic.org.sg).
